Vintage Natural Charnley Forest Hone Sharpening Honing Stone Oilstone
Excellent finishing stone for sharpening. The stone has a white suspension.
Several old Journals of Archaeological Science mention the grey-green hone stones. That author, D. Moore under the heading "Leicestershire Oilstone" refers to it as a very fine grained pale grey stone containing quartz, muscovite and opaque material. It was obtained from the Charnwood Forest. There is mention of non-figured grey hones in other works, too.
